The death of a teen in Hyderabad, after coming under the wheels of an RTC bus last month, prompted a safety campaign, urging commuters to use footpaths at bus stops. Ironically, this basic but crucial commuter-friendly component is grossly missing at several locations. While the transport juggernaut says responsibility for ensuring this infrastructure at bus stops and shelters lies with the municipal corporation, experts bat for a more proactive role of the Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority, reports Syed Mohammed
